Tsiribihina River Descent by Motor Boat
Adventure and Relaxation on the Beautiful Tsiribihina River – Western Madagascar
Day-to-Day Program
After breakfast, drive to Masiakapy, where we board our motor boat to begin our river journey along the Tsiribihina. Relax on the boat while enjoying the scenery and observing wildlife such as herons, wild ducks, parrots, raptors, and kingfishers.
Before noon, cruise through the Bemaraha Massif, a spectacular landscape of deciduous forest, home to lemurs and the vibrant sounds of birds. At midday, enjoy a refreshing swim under Nosinapela Waterfall, Madagascar’s most beautiful waterfall, with its natural swimming pool.
In the afternoon, continue cruising until we reach our camping site on a sandbank. Set up tents, prepare dinner over a campfire, and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the river at sunset.
Begin the day with a short visit to Begidro Village to meet locals, see traditional houses, a primary school, tobacco plantations, and storage facilities.
Continue cruising along the Tsiribihina River, passing Berevo Village, home to a hospital, Catholic school, and gendarmerie. In the late afternoon, stop at Ambatomisay Village, known for its majestic Baobab Andasonia trees. Visit the village and enjoy traditional dance performances around the campfire.
The final stretch of the journey features picturesque rice fields, baobabs, mango and jojoba trees, and local fishermen along the riverbanks.
Arrive at Tsimafana around midday. From here, travelers can continue to Morondava, Belo Sur Tsiribihina, or singy de Bemaraha. End of the tour.
