Itinerary

Day 01:

Antananarivo – Arrival

Welcome (Tongasoa!) to Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, also known as the “City of a Thousand”. Transfer to your hotel in the city center.

Day 02:

Antananarivo – Antsirabe (170 km, ~3.5 hrs)

After breakfast, complete paperwork and depart along Route Nationale 7. Enjoy a scenic drive through the highlands and rice fields with photo stops along the way. In the evening, stroll through Antsirabe’s lively town center or take a pousse-pousse ride.

Day 03:

Antsirabe – Miandrivazo (230 km, ~5 hrs)

Morning walk in Antsirabe before continuing west through ever-changing landscapes to Miandrivazo, the starting point of your river journey.

Overnight at Soa Lia Hotel

Day 04:

Miandrivazo – Masiakapy – Tsiribihina River – Nosinapela Waterfall – Begidro (Camping)

Transfer to Masiakapy, then begin your Tsiribihina River cruise by motor boat. Relax and spot herons, kingfishers, parrots, ducks, raptors, and lemurs in the forests along the riverbanks.

Stop at the Nosinapela Waterfall for a refreshing swim in its natural pool. Continue downstream and camp on a sandbank with dinner by the fire.

Day 05:

Tsiribihina River – Ambatomisay (Camping)

Morning visit to Begidro village for a cultural encounter. Continue your peaceful boat journey surrounded by nature.

Day 06:

Tsiribihina River – Belo sur Tsiribihina – Bekopaka (100 km, ~5 hrs by 4x4)

Complete the last section of the river with views of baobabs and rice fields. Disembark at Belo sur Tsiribihina, then continue by 4x4 to Bekopaka. Evening arrival and hotel check-in.

Day 07:

Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park

Morning excursion to the Grand Tsingy (UNESCO site) – a 4–5 hour hike through dramatic limestone pinnacles, caves, forests, and wildlife, including lemurs and birds. Lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit Petit Tsingy, with labyrinths, viewpoints, and sightings of Decken’s sifaka and red-fronted brown lemurs.

Overnight at Orchidee de Bemaraha Hotel

Day 08:

Bekopaka – Baobab Avenue – Morondava (200 km)

Drive south via Belo sur Tsiribihina, stopping at the sacred Baobab in Love. End your journey with a breathtaking sunset at Baobab Avenue, one of Madagascar’s most iconic sights. Evening arrival in Morondava.
