The western region of Madagascar is renowned for its majestic baobab trees, unique dry forests, and charming coastal landscapes. This journey from Antananarivo to Morondava takes you through the scenic Highlands, lush rice fields, and traditional Malagasy villages. One of the highlights of this trip is the world-famous Avenue of the Baobabs, where you’ll witness an unforgettable sunset. You will also explore the Kirindy Dry Deciduous Forest, home to lemurs, chameleons, and many bird species, and enjoy relaxing moments on the wide sandy beaches of Morondava.

Day 01:

Arrival in Antananarivo (18 km)

Tongasoa! (Welcome) to Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar. The name means “City of a Thousand” because it was once guarded by a thousand warriors. In the late 18th century, King Andrianampoinimerina made it his royal capital after moving from Ambohimanga.
Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to the city center for check-in at Hotel Chalet des Roses.
Overnight in Antananarivo.

Day 02:

Antananarivo – Morondava (600 km)

After breakfast, we complete the necessary travel formalities, then depart by first-class taxi-brousse toward Morondava. The scenic drive passes through picturesque highlands and rice fields. Around midday, we stop for lunch in a traditional Malagasy restaurant (hotely) before continuing to Morondava.
Overnight at VEZO Beach s Hotel, Morondava.

Day 03:

Morondava – Kirindy Forest – Avenue of the Baobabs (112 km)

After an early breakfast, we drive to Kirindy Dry Forest, where you can observe lemurs, reptiles, and a variety of bird species in their natural habitat.
After the visit, we return to Morondava for lunch at a local restaurant.
In the late afternoon, we head to the Avenue of the Baobabs, stopping at the famous “Baobab Amoureux” (Lovers’ Baobabs). Enjoy the magical sunset and capture unforgettable photos.
Return to VEZO Beach Hotel, a beautiful beachfront bungalow overlooking the Mozambique Channel.
Overnight in Morondava.

Day 04:

Relaxation in Morondava

Free day to relax and enjoy the wide sandy beaches of Morondava, or explore the town at your own pace.
Overnight at VEZO Beach Hotel.

Day 05:

Morondava – Antananarivo (600 km)

Early departure for the return trip to Antananarivo by first-class taxi-brousse.
End of tour.
